Keeper of the Lost Cities
Jolie Ruwen has joined the Black Swan, an underground organization of insurgents in the Lost Cities that secretly fights another group of rebels. Jolie must infiltrate the rebels' ranks and discover what they're plotting while battling her own personal life. Keeping secrets from everyone she loves, even her fiance Brant, isn't easy. She always loved him but their bad match is straining everyone.
Jolie must combat her own personal feelings when she finds out a dark secret that could change everything. All of her work was not for nothing, now her report is in your hands. Her story needs to be told, before it too late...

I chose to write my fan fiction about Keeper of the Lost Cities because Keeper is one of my favorite series and I love the world and characters the author, Shannon Messenger created.
My fan fiction is about a character named Jolie Ruwen. Jolie is Grady and Edaline Ruwen's original daughter who died sixteen years before the fist book. (Grady and Edaline are Sophie Foster's gaurdians who later adopt her as their own daughter.) Jolie is frequently mentioned throughout the series, especially in the third book, Everblaze.
Jolie always intrested me, even though she is dead. When she probed Prentice's mind in exile, Sophie found evidence that Jolie was some how involved with the Black Swan. Sophie searched and searched to find meaning to the vision Prentice showed her. Only the highest members of the Black Swan knew of Jolie's involvment. Her story was a mystery to everyone until Sophie found her journal in a hidden compartment in one of the crystal walls in Jolie's room. The fan fiction on the page titled Fan Fiction is my version of Jolie's story, titled Swan Song. Jolie's story is never completly told in any of the Keeper of the Lost Cities books that are out.
